What would happen if Crystal Castles made music in a garage in the early 90’s, and then added a punk guitarist? You would get Absolutely Not, a lo-fi punk-pop trio straight out of Chicago, Illinois.

Sometimes it feels nice to listen to a band who has a no bullshit policy — a band that doesn’t care about getting attention from certain areas and sounds like they are playing strictly what comes from the heart and soul — a band that really does the body and mind some good.

Absolutely Not is a type of band we sometimes refer to as a “cleansing band”. That means after we’ve oversaturated our ears with music, no matter what type it is, we’re brought back to the basics by a cleansing band dedicated to playing nothing but rip-roaring, pure, unadulterated rock.

Not only does Absolutely Not slaughter the punk scene with their unapologetic, in-your-face music, they also somehow combine a hint of 50’s surf, 80’s glam, and pop that is so addictive, you won’t be able to get their music out of your head. It’s haunted, creepy, upbeat, and totally inappropriate all at once. They create a level of groove-rock that has been lost among the current overhaul of up and coming bands.

If you’re in the area, Absolutely Not will be playing Ian’s Party, and will be gracing the stage of Double Door, on January 6th, 2017 on the Main Floor.
