If you haven’t heard of Modern Chemistry, you’re going to in 2017. The rock trio are on the cusp of some big things, including a massive tour, album rumors, and most likely taking over the west coast…

Check out their newest video release, then read the interview with lead singer, Joe Zorzi, below.

You’ve got 3 EPs, a growing following, and are about to go on tour with Taking Back Sunday, are the rumors true? Is 2017 the year of the album?

The rumors are true! This past year, we went to Baltimore and recorded a full length with Paul Leavitt. We’re really proud of it and can’t wait for everyone to hear it. We’ll have more info on that soon.

Starting on 4/26 you’ve got a 23 stop tour set up through August, what are you most excited about? Nervous about?

We’ve been on the road for the past week and it’s been great. Spring Fling festival was the best time we could ask for. All the other cities we’ve hit have been great, too. We’ve just been meeting a lot of wonderful people at all these shows. Making new friends is always the best part.

This summer tour with Taking Back Sunday and Every Time I Die is going to be an entirely different experience. We couldn’t be any more excited to be included on that tour. It’s also been a while since we’ve been on the west coast. Can’t wait to get back there.

This one might be out there, but… is there something in the water in NJ? New Brunswick? Asbury Park? Cause, there’s been a TON of incredible bands out of that area. What’s the deal?

New Jersey is really a special place for music. There are a ton of talented artists and I think everyone pushes each other to be the best they can be. Music’s just a really important part of these towns as a whole.

What’s your favorite venue to play at and favorite venues to go to?

Starland Ballroom is definitely one of our favorite places to play and see other artists. The staff are some of the greatest people I’ve ever met.

It was also amazing to play the Troubadour in Los Angeles. Seeing our name on the marquee was pretty jaw-dropping.

Who are you listening to right now? Anyone on the radar we should be on the lookout for?

We’re checking out the new Gorillaz album right now. The new Kendrick Lamar album. Bands like A Will Away and Toy Cars are awesome and more people should listen to them.
