It’s winter, and with less sunshine and activities readily at your disposal, it’s not uncommon to feel like you’re in a rut. If you feel like you’re just doing the same thing over and over again, maybe it’s time to change up your life!
While it might be easy to feel the need to change up your routine, sometimes it’s hard to come up with a game plan and actively pursue changing up your life. So here’s some fun ideas to switch up your go to hang outs and make your social life exciting again, especially when it comes to concerts.
Go to a random show
One way to switch things up is to pick an entirely random show: date, location and artist. It’s like Russian roulette, but with a concert attached! This is a good one to do with a friend or partner because you can both venture into the unknown and introduce yourself to a new artist.
Try a new venue
We all have our favorite venues we find ourselves going to week after week; whether it be because of the line up or the happy hour special, bars tend to become part of our ritual. To shake up your social life, try a new venue! Branch out of the known, even if it takes you an extra Uber ride to do so.
Go out with someone new
It doesn’t necessarily have to be a brand new friend, but wouldn’t it be nice to switch up your social life by inviting out your favorite coworker? Or maybe your friend of a friend you only ever see in passing, and don’t get to bond with that often? You could find your new gig buddy!
Check out a new neighborhood
There’s sure to be great neighborhood dives all over your city, so why frequent the same one every week? While it might not be as comfortable as you’re used to, the change in scenery could let you meet new people and really try new things.
Embrace a different genre
You may have a certain genre you love to see live, like doing the late night warehouse party, or the early ending punk pop show. They all have their advantages. Switching up the genre as part of messing with your routine might help you out more than you know.
