It’s time to take advantage of the nice weather in Dallas before it gets too hot to do anything outdoors. We made a list of fun things to do and must-visits in Dallas during the day. Before a night filled with summertime shows, of course.

3 daytime must-visits in Dallas

Dallas Farmer’s Market

Whether you simply want to go pick up lunch, do some shopping, or just walk around on a nice day, the Dallas Farmer’s Market has plenty to offer. You can walk around The Shed for fresh produce and other locally grown products. You might even catch someone selling arts and crafts!

Nearby is The Market, where visitors can spend some time relaxing, eating, drinking coffee, people-watching, or simply getting out of the sun for a bit. This section is loaded with artisanal food and coffee vendors, and could leave you with a tough decision when deciding what to eat.

One cool event to check out at the Farmer’s Market is their Friday Movie Night. They play movies, for free, so visitors can cap off the night in a fun way. With these movie nights, beer, and live music, there’s plenty to do beyond food and produce. Visit the Market on June 16th, when they play Hidden Figures for all who desire!

Dallas Arboretum

On a gorgeous summer day, there is absolutely nothing better than roaming around the wilderness. So why not walk around the constructed wilderness?! Despite my sarcasm, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is absolutely amazing. Summer at the Arboretum just started, and runs through the summer (I guess that’s obvious…).

They have Father’s Day weekend events, Fourth of July events, live performances, Family Friday’s, and even $1 admission in August! If you are skeptical, spend a few minutes scanning photos online, and you’ll see that that is even an experience. There is always something going on at the Arboretum, and even with the rising summer heat, the colors still illuminate and fill the air with energy. Summer, shmummer, the Arboretum is still glaringly beautiful!

The Winspear Opera House

Okay, okay, this one isn’t daytime. It doesn’t matter. Check out Something Rotten!

A comedy musical set in 1595, Something Rotten! Runs from June 13th to June 25th at the Winspear, and is sure to be terrific. It was created by the director of Aladdin and the co-director of The Book of Mormon, so there’s not much to worry about. It’s great to escape the typical leisure trips and see a Broadway play every so often, especially in the summer.
