After a night of live music there’s one thing that we can all agree on, no matter how old you are, where you live, what you do for a living, or what type of music you went to the night before… waking up and having a big, delicious breakfast is a game changer.
But when you do a search, you’re going to find way too many to pick from, which becomes its own kind of stress.
I narrowed the list down to five in Portland, all of which have some kind of elixir to help ease into (or out of) your weekend. In no particular order:
Brix Tavern

First up, look at the picture on the left, then back here, then back to the picture, then back here. Okay. We’re on the same page now. The Southern Benedict should be first, second, and third options every time with poached eggs on corn cakes, green mole pork, and chipotle hollandaise sauce.
And, while you’re enjoying that, hit up the “bubbles for every bite” for only $9.
Night Light Lounge

Two things on the menu here make you want to be a better person. First, the French toast. You’ve had French toast, we all have, but have you ever had Banana (bread) French Toast? That’s right, house made banana bread dipped in a rum batter with fresh bananas, cinnamon, caramel, and whipped cream. Just take some time and think about that.
Second, the bacon cheese burger. It’s brunch, but when you see it, you don’t even care. That garlic aioli changes you… add the fried egg to take it over the top.
DRINKS? Grab the Mix Your Own House Mimosa for $12 and you’ll have a bottle to mix your own drinks to your liking…
Swift Lounge

Hungry? Of course you are, you can always hit up the basics for $10 OR… you can take an adventure and hit up the Chicken Fried Pork (pork schnitzel, farm eggs, and smothered in country gravy) or reminisce about Thanksgiving with the Monte Cristo (three brioche layers stacked with roasted turkey, cream cheese cranberry compote, powdered sugar, and syrup).
Not only does this place have some of the greatest names for drinks ever, but they’re priced well. We’re talkin’ a bucket of Mimosa’s for $12 (aka a bottle of bubbles and a bottle of OJ or POG (passion, orange, guava)) or a “Fatty” which is 32 ounces of incredible for $9.
If you want to know what the drinks are called when they put pop rocks on the edge of the glass, you’ll have to head over to their website…
Bad Habit Room

If the name doesn’t intrigue you the French toast and Mondo Mimosa should. First up, that French toast isn’t your run-of-the-mill toast, it’s brioche jam-packed with apples, cinnamon, maple syrup and a side of bacon.
Then, whispers of a Mondo Mimosa are heard and you dive in. What comes out is a trip to fantasy land. Yes, it’s $3 more, but when you hold your chalice up above the rest of the table and start referring to yourself as royalty, everyone will understand and oddly relate.
Raes Lakeview Lounge

9 AM to 2 PM on Saturdays and Sundays are a magical time at this place. Not only do they have $1 mimosas but just look at that picture… Who’s not a sucker for a good eggs Benedict? And theirs is one to be a sucker for. It’s got grilled Black Forest ham with poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, and their special crispy roasted breakfast potatoes. Mix that with the mimosas or any of their other options and you’re set for success.
