Summer is well on its way. That means more rooftop shows, more sunshine, and more outdoor activities. Where can you grab a drink before your next live music show that embraces the good weather?

Biergarten
This is your traditional Bavarian beer garden. They have rotating beers on tap and occasionally have live music. It is exclusively outdoor seating, but for when it gets a little chilly at night, they have blankets.

Pier 23 Cafe
The FiDi happy hour crew gets here around 5 PM everyday, so if you’d like a table be sure to arrive before that. They have a great back deck to watch the sunset and free straw hats to borrow if you’d like to protect yourself and forgot to apply sunscreen. The seafood fare is pretty decent, too.

The Tipsy Pig
“Strawberry Fields” is the cocktail that everyone raves about here. They also have good food, ranging from typical bar food like pretzel bites to your fancier fare like polenta topped with bacon. The patio can get pretty hot, and it doesn’t have much shade, so bring a hat or wait til’ sundown.

Mad Oak
This rooftop comes with adjustable heaters, a jukebox app for you to request your favorite tunes, and the game of the week projected on a wall, so you can see what’s going on in the game no matter where your seat is. Oh, and did I mention fresh squeezed greyhounds? Let’s go.

Bar Bocce
This one isn’t quite in San Francisco, but I count Sausalito as Bay Area and it’s worth the trek. It’s got great pizza, bocce, a beach, fire pit, and shade. They also allow dogs. It can get packed, so if you want to sit on the beach I recommend bringing a blanket to set up camp until a table becomes available.
