Just an hour west of Denver, you can find the town of Frisco, CO. Mainly known as a ski destination due to its close proximity to four major resorts (Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, Keystone, and Arapahoe Basin), there’s one more reason you should come to Frisco and this one’s a summer trip. It’s the annual Colorado BBQ Challenge!
Started in 1993 with only 12 teams, it is now celebrating its 24th year. The event extends over six blocks of Main Street and has in the past attracted over 30,000 people.
This year from June 15-17 there will be over 70 BBQers, seven bands, pig races, kids’ activities, the 3rd annual Firefighter Cook Off, food sampling and demos, the Breckenridge Distillery whiskey tour, the Bacon Burner 6k, and of course the best BBQ you will ever taste in Colorado.
The live music inclues the 101st Army Rock Band, Buckner Funken Jazz, Beau Thomas, and more.
