If you’re not up to date on Austin City Limits Music Festival, let us introduce you. This live music festival is the annual, two weekend live music extravaganza that occurs in Zilker Park. The festival is huge and has expanded since its inception in 2002. Originally a one weekend event, it has since become so successful that it expanded to two weekends in 2012 and last year’s edition attracted over 450,000 guests across eight stages.
There’s been some difficulty in the past with noise complaints, but despite that the Austin City Council is making it easier for live music to remain a part of the city’s cultural fabric and maintain its position as the “Live Music Capital of the World.”
In addition to music, there will be an ACL Eats food court that will feature local restaurants and food favorites with the official food lineup being released later this summer.
But back to the music, in its 16th year, ACL has released the biggest lineup yet:
Austin City Limits also expanded internationally last year into New Zealand and established a sister festival named Auckland City Limits.
