It’s true. It’s coming, and we can all breathe a huge sigh of relief, because the wait has been long and arduous. In case you’ve been living under a rock, Awakenings is “a techno utopia where the majority of its entrants would probably choose to die,” according to a Skiddle review of last year’s euphoric festival in Amsterdam.
Don’t believe them? Just check out last year’s Official Aftermovie:
Sunday’s New York line-up is guaranteed to deliver, but we’d be lying if we said we didn’t have a couple favorites that we’re particularly looking forward to. First off, we can’t wait for Pan-Pot to reprise last year’s Awakenings performance in Amsterdam (listen here). Pan-Pot is Berlin-based deep underground, groove-infused minimal electronic fusion techno duo, and not to be missed.
And who couldn’t get lost in the unyielding, rapturous sets of Ida Engberg? Another Awakenings veteran (last year’s set here), this Swedish minimal techno producer and DJ is notable for her deep, long lasting sets that surpass the essence of time but somehow still leave us wanting more.
Plus, don’t miss your chance to see Adam Beyer, the current reigning god of techno, cap things off as the event’s headliner. He’ll be playing late night, from 4am – 6am. Check out our gallery when he played a Jukely show in London here.
