Ever look for that bar that will overserve you? The one with generous pours and a loose interpretation of “acceptable public behavior”? Well if you’re talking about Christmas cheer (and not alcohol) this is the place.

Miracle Christmas bar DenverWith an interior pulled straight from Santa’s wildest, QVC-fueled fever dream, every single surface of this new Denver bar, called Miracle Bar, is covered with holly, jolly, and children’s dreams.

The concept of these “Miracle” bars is actually one that was imported from overseas. They’ve been bouncing around Europe for a few years now, but they’re making their way over to this side of the pond.

As you might expect the drinks available will be holiday-themed. Some of the selections include a Snowball Old Fashioned made with an an actual toy snowball maker, mulled red wine (Bad Santa), an eggnog (Jingle Bell Nog), and “You’ll Shoot Your Rye Out” with pumpkin spiced rye whiskey, Budweiser-marshmallow syrup, and egg white. In case you didn’t realize, “holiday-themed drinks” is potentially code for “noxiously sweet puke” and “maximizing calories per drink.”

The decor will also include a Hanukkah corner for one of Miracle Bar’s co-owners, who is Jewish, to help balance out the rest of the candy cane striped bar.

It probably goes without saying, but let’s say it anyways, this bar will be doing Christmas music only. Your loud, drunken, impromptu karaoke renditions can safely be passed off as caroling. Isn’t the holiday season wonderful?

This bar, much like this festive season, will only be around temporarily, until Christmas Eve with a possibility of being extended through to New Year’s Day. After that, it will slide, again like the season, into the miserable cold heart of winter. By that I mean it’ll become a coffee/breakfast/lunch type place and you’ll go skiing. They do intend, however, to hold their liquor license and maybe open as a themed bar for the next holiday. I wonder how it’ll look in green…

You can find Miracle Bar at 1610 Little Raven Street, Denver, CO and it is open everyday at 6 PM until Christmas.
