If you’re anything like me when it’s summertime, it’s torture to sit through the week at your desk while it’s so nice outside. How do we make it through these grueling five days just to play on the weekend? Austin has the answer for you, and I’m sure you’ve heard of it before. Blues on the Green (BOTG) is back.
If you’re new to Austin, or you’ve never been, I’ll let you in on a little secret: BOTG is the free event to get you through your work week.
Every couple of Wednesdays, the radio station KGSR and HEB (yes, like the grocery store) put on a free concert in Zilker Park. There are vendors with food and drink and designated paid VIP areas that give you the ability to purchase alcohol. That means: nature, beer, sunset, live music, and a little fun to break up your work week.
The first week of BOTG is here, and it’s happening next Wednesday. The headliner is Jamestown Revival, an American rock duo native to Texas who blur the lines between Americana and western rock.
Can’t make it this week? There are three more dates coming up this summer: June 14, July 12, and August 2. Artists for the upcoming dates haven’t been released yet, but KGSR keeps their website fairly well updated and you can stay tuned here.
