Ask anyone in the country about Portland’s culture and you’ll hear everything from ’90s grunge music to literature to art. But at the end of the day, the best way to put it is that it’s got everything. It’s been long known about the incredible musical innovations and vibrant live shows that come out of the area, but have you ever really thought about how truly lucky the city is?
Downtown’s got complimentary Noon Tunes and Music on Main events throughout the year as well as 288 parks that bring in the Washington Summer Festival every August. And, if some like it quiet, the visual community can see everything from contemporary art to classic throughout the plethora of art museums around the area.
Speaking of visual art, there are THREE monthly art walks where the galleries stay open late and often times offer snacks and drinks on the first Thursday, last Thursday, and first Friday of every month.
Then add on top of all of this the top seven summer music festivals coming to Oregon in 2017 and you’ve got something really special. Which of the following will you be hitting up?
4 Peaks Music Festival – June 15-18
What the Festival – June 16-19
Northwest String Summit – July 13-16
MFNW Presents Project Pabst – August 26-27
AND MANY MORE
It’s walking down the street and hearing music, walking throughout the city and seeing art, or hitting up one of the many music festivals in Oregon. It’s a great place to live and an even better place for culture.
