Music education is something that still lacks adequate support from all levels of government in the US. However three Colorado-bred bands are coming together for this sole purpose. The Fray, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, and One Republic will be a part of the Take Note, the Concert with the support of Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper and produced by AEG to expand music education programs and give wider access to musical instruments in Colorado’s schools.

In a recent interview Gov. Hickenlooper stated that, “Study after study shows that music learning supports other learning—from language development to improved test scores in countless subjects, but it’s so much more: music is crucial to creating a unique and vibrant culture. If Colorado wants to ensure everyone has access to a high-quality education, we must expand access to music education.”

Proceeds from the concert will go to the nonprofit organization, Colorado Music Coalition. This will help to create a grant-making fund with the hopes of raising money for numerous school districts in the 2017 school year.

The concert will take place at 1STBANK Center on May 4th.
