Right now, Denver has one of the hottest music scenes in the country. And it’s not hard to understand why. The city has adventurous fans, intelligent promoters, stunning venues, and, most importantly, incredible talent. Such a healthy scene should be celebrated, right? Maybe with a music festival or something?
The Westword Music Showcase has been doing just that for more than two decades. In fact, it’s the largest music festival celebrating the Denver scene, which is no small feat considering the local competition.
On June 23, the showcase will return to Denver’s Golden Triangle neighborhood for its 24th year. And given the acts announced so far, you will not want to miss it.
Headlining the festival will be Galantis, Bonobo, The Front Bottoms, Joywave, Magic Giant, and Sunflower Bean. Not only are these acts juggernauts in the national music scene, but they are diverse in genre, just like Denver’s music scene itself. So there will be something for everyone.
These acts will perform on the festival’s two outdoor stages. Given that Denver is one of America’s sunniest cities, the Saturday of the event will more than likely be a beautiful day. Just another reason you won’t want to miss out.
On top of that, there will be 100 local bands playing on 10 other stages. One thing is for sure—a competitive selection of 100 Denver bands will be next level.
Tickets are on sale now, and the first 2,000 will be sold for just $25. Alternatively, you can pay extra for the VIP experience, which will get you a separate entrance, special viewing areas, and a VIP lounge where you’ll receive two beers from Coors Light. More information is available on the event’s Facebook page.
