New Music Friday is jam packed with great releases all over the board today. There’s some indie rock, alt rock, electronic, and dreampop. Eat your heart out!

Girlpool – What Chaos Is Imaginary

Girlpool at their finest: dreamy, slow instrumentals with a shockingly tender core. The album blurs the line between dreampop and indierock in all the ways you hope for.

Broods – Don’t Feed The Pop Monster

What can you expect with this album? I’ll tell you: an incredibly eclectic collection of synthpop. This New Zealand based duo’s third studio album is a little bit darker than the rest of their work, and shows a little bit of growth as a partnership.

Big Wild– Superdream

You may recognize Big Wild‘s name from his reputation as Odesza’s protegee or any of his hit singles. Soon you’ll know him for this album. His sound is often described as atmospheric, blending genres so entirely he’s made an electronic sound of his own.

White Lies– FIVE

This album marks a decade of White Lies, exploring a new territory of sound that is definitely indie rock two times over; the album spans from arena rock to a softer, more panoramic sound.

Beirut – Gallipoli

This is the album Beirut was yearning to make. PopMatters described it best; “On Gallipoli, Beirut bridges indie music with traditional world music elements, creating a work of somber beauty.”

The Moth & The Flame– Ruthless

Alt Rock is alive and well with The Moth & The Flame. Their newest album addresses struggles with anxiety and depression, taking time to validate and explore mental health concerns.
