Chicago turns its river green, Boston has a huge parade, Philadelphia goes bar crawling, New York fill the streets of Midtown. Comparatively, L.A. doesn’t really have a huge St. Patrick’s Day tradition. Perhaps it’s time for that to change.
This St. Patrick’s Day, which fortuitously lands on a Saturday this year, kicks off with a party called Backyard. Underrated Presents is throwing a lot party at Station1640 (also home of Clinic Wednesdays) on March 17th where you can celebrate your Irish heritage, whether or not you actually have any.
Out in the lot, there’ll be a beer garden, food trucks and other vendors, and a lineup of live bands including Paradise Kitty (an all-girl Guns N’ Roses tribute band), Dirty Old Town, GO-GO RIOT, Satellite Sky, and Bear Squared, as well as Sean Cvtter and dj PROPHET to keep the party bumping.
Back inside, there’s an electronic lineup worth coming to see, including Adam Auburn, Dj-Paul Ahi, Malio, Mr. Fitz, Danny B, Jeanne, Ace Brothers, No Pants Party, and SXS.
Plus, if you’re into the day party thing, it’s free with RSVP before 4 PM.
It’s about time Los Angeles had a St. Patrick’s Day tradition. Let’s start here!
