Heading into its ninth year, the Northside Festival has become one of the premier events in Brooklyn. It covers everything creative from content to music and art to innovation. From June 7th through 9th, attendees will have the chance to check out keynotes and panels featuring notable industry influencers including The Fader, SNL, Google, BuzzFeed, and a special guest appearance by Mayor Bill de Blasio. In addition, they will host several interviews, panels, masterclasses, pitch competitions, immersive VR activations, and evening parties focused on how technology has and continues to change the way we live, work, and create.
Now to the fun part of the festival. Northside is known as a launching platform for artists. Its credentials include several big artists today, such as Tame Impala, Iceage, Chance the Rapper, Solange, and Mac DeMarco.
This year from June 8th through 11th, the festival will host headliners Miguel, Thursday, and Dirty Projectors at McCarren Park. The entire festival will include over 300 emerging and established artists at outdoor stages and indie venues across North Brooklyn. Some of the other artists you should check out are Craig Leon & Martin Rev, Downtown Boys, Elvis Depressedly, Elysia Crampton, Girlpool, The Hotelier, and Jay Som.

Northside Festival has always put its efforts into supporting the local communities of North Brooklyn. A portion of the proceeds from the three shows at McCarren Park will be donated to the Open Space Alliance for North Brooklyn. The OSA is a nonprofit dedicated to building a stronger North Brooklyn by improving 45 parks and playgrounds and getting neighbors involved in their community parks.
