Sometimes it feels like genres exist in silos and so do their respective fans.
Of course, when you think about it, genre silos simply aren’t real. So much of music influences other music, even from corners as disparate as country and trap, house and doo-wop, disco and folk, hip-hop and electronic.
Panic in L.A. wants to help bridge those gaps. Starting last year, this event from L’Affaire Musicale and Orlove Entertainment has taken what’s ostensibly a hip-hop show and included artists that completely bend it around.
This year, they’ve got quite the lineup in store: Raekwon, Sango, Mix Master Mike, Pomo, starRo, and B. Bravo. Drawing from some of the best from the golden age of hip-hop, to soulful electronic artists, to a member of the freakin’ Wu-Tang Clan, these artists are sure to combine their skills and sounds into a night that will reach fans across genres and bring it all together in one beautiful, musical mash.
